bronze more bronze aluminum

These are foot stops for longboarding. I picked up longboarding at university, and I did go downhill longboarding less than a handful of times, exceeding speeds of 40 MPH. I like to just cruise now, I am not so much into downhill longboarding. Though, the idea came about of wanting a bit more security, as if wearing protection gear. These help lock your feet in. I made quite a few of these in Bronze, which looks great, and aluminum, which is more lightweight and cheap. Bronze adds a little bit of extra weight, which isn't very important, but you do want a heavy board for going downhill. Whether you're flying downhill, or just cruising around, these knurled footstops are a nice thing to have on the board, locking your feet in.

The photos on the left and right are the design I ultimately went with. I like the chamfer, and it creates less of a sharp edge, with a countersunk hole for the screw.

These photos above are from one of my customers, placing a few orders for him, his family and friends. He's from Puerto Rico. Since then, I've had plenty of customers from all around the States.

Here is the Lathe in action! When knurling, I need to use a tailstock to support it. Here I got a chuck in the tailstock, enabling me to create a countersink. I also cut using high speed steel cutter bars to cut the footstops off the stock. I did create some g-code to automate this, but I found that it is more efficient to do it manually, which is also enjoyable.
